Where Do South African Cheetahs Live? Like other subspecies, they make homes in open habitats such as savannas, deserts, scrubforests, grasslands, and semi-desert steppes. They like to live in wide habitats because these habitats attract many herbivorous animals which are the primary diet of cheetah.
