The leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) is a medium sized lizard which lives in the northern India and Afghanistan. It has moveable eyelids.

Adult geckos grow 20.5 to 27.5 cm in total length. Hatchlings measure 6.5 to 8.4 cm at birth. They have 100 teeth which are replaced every 3 months.
The gecko makes home in dry habitats such as deserts, dry grasslands, and rocky areas.
Leopard geckos are found in northern India, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and other south Asian countries.
Leopard geckos 
mostly eat super worms, crickets, roaches, mealworms, spiders, and dubia roaches. They do not feed on dead animals.
During winter when the temperature drops below 10 °C they go into partial hibernation. The state of partial hibernation is called brumation.
Leopard geckos spend much of their daytime in the underground burrows. They will come out at dawn and dusk. Geckos typically live alone.
Geckos can deliberately detach its tail if the predators catch it so. This is quite unique adaptation in that it prevents the geckos to escape potential predators.
The breeding season occurs in summer. The female lays 12 – 16 eggs in one time.
